WSJ.com - New Sony TV Chips Give Viewers Control; Can 'Pan and Scan'

WSJ.com - New Sony TV Chips Give Viewers Control; Can 'Pan and Scan' "New technology unveiled yesterday by Sony Corp. lets television viewers manipulate the images broadcast to their screens, allowing them to zoom into and pan around the picture as well as sharpen the resolution.
The features, some of which will be included in a new line of TV sets Sony plans to show for the first time next week, come as Japan's gadget king fights to prove it still has the innovative edge that created hits like the Walkman music player and the Trinitron TV."

The race is on -- will you prefer (PC + TV) or (TV + PC)? I think history suggests general-purpose digital devices win, assuming the form factors, user experience models, etc. don't suck.
