The Slatest - Slate Magazine: Blogger Proposes Military Coup To Resolve the "Obama Problem"

Another leading indicator that perhaps, when it comes to “journalism 2.0”, sunlight will be the best disinfectant – i.e., that publishers will have to pay more attention to information quality themes again.  A good book (and companion Web site) in this domain: Regret the Error: How Media Mistakes Pollute the Press and Imperil Free Speech

"Don't dismiss the possibility [of a military coup] as unrealistic," blogger John Perry wrote in a column yesterday for the conservative Web site Newsmax. "There is a remote, although gaining, possibility America's military will intervene as a last resort to resolve the 'Obama problem.' " In the piece, which has since mysteriously disappeared from the web site, Perry outlines—but does not advocate, he insists—what would happen if the United States were to be relieved of its leader. In short, "skilled, military-trained, nation-builders would replace accountability-challenged, radical-left commissars." Newsmax has since distanced itself from Perry, referring to him as an "unpaid blogger" and assuring readers that the site believes "in the principles of Constitutional government." According to TPM, Perry has been writing a regular column for the site every week since 1999.
